The m7gd.xlarge is a general-purpose AWS EC2 instance: 4 vCPU and 16 GiB of memory, 4.00 GiB per vCPU. In the name, "m" is the general-purpose line, "7" is the generation, "gd" marks AWS Graviton (ARM) processors and local NVMe storage and "xlarge" is the size within the m7gd family. It runs on AWS Graviton3 Processor at 2.5 GHz, and AWS introduced it in July 2023. AWS has since shipped m8gd and m9gd; m8gd.xlarge is the direct replacement at this size. Rackspace Spot's gp.vs2.large is a like-for-like substitute at 4 vCPU and 16 GiB, about 95% below the US East (N. Virginia) on-demand rate.
