The m7gd.4xlarge is a general-purpose AWS EC2 instance: 16 vCPU and 64 GiB of memory, 4.00 GiB per vCPU. In the name, "m" is the general-purpose line, "7" is the generation, "gd" marks AWS Graviton (ARM) processors and local NVMe storage and "4xlarge" is the size within the m7gd family. It runs on AWS Graviton3 Processor at 2.5 GHz, and AWS introduced it in July 2023. AWS has since shipped m8gd and m9gd; m8gd.4xlarge is the direct replacement at this size. Rackspace Spot's gp.vs2.2xlarge is a like-for-like substitute at 16 vCPU and 64 GiB, about 95% below the US East (N. Virginia) on-demand rate.
